Modality utilization in just 6 hours

.
I did not want to pass up the opportunity to get down to Boston during my trip to see the family in NH. After all, it had been 20 years since I had been there last. I only had 6 hours to see it all, though, so I made full use of Commuter Rail, and the Orange (not pictured), Red, Silver, and Green Lines to do it. Worked very well indeed.

Commuter Rail commenced at Andover Station, and would return me their as well.

After wandering the histories of the North End (and this included my own history as well as that of Paul Revere), the next leg was to get to Quincy, hopping the Orange Line from State Street and then the Red Line heading toward Braintree.

I took a quick pic inside the Blue Line Station, but did not make use of that line's services.

Quincy Center Station

The ubiquitous MBTA icon, here in Quincy Square.

Also checked out the old digs in Wollaston. When I was finished with that, I got these shots at the Wollaston MBTA Station ...

... and they included this scene of the re-opened Old Colony RR Line as Commuter Rail now.

Got off at South Station in order to check out the new Bus Rapid Transit system a.k.a. the Silver Line.

Bus Rapid Transit is great concept, but the Silver Line was very disappointing with the 15 m.p.h. speed restriction in the underground tunnels. Not very "rapid" for Bus Rapid Transit, so what's the point?

After a sortie to Harvard Square, I headed to Back Bay via the Green Line.

Finally, it was time to head back to NH and family. Snapped the last shot before my camera's battery died here of the outer and inner platforms of Park Street Under.
